Pete Atkin A fab year for the Club came to an end with an all-too-rare appearance by the inimitable Pete Atkin. The evening was a sell-out: with fans coming from far and near. Life-long fans of the work of Pete Atkin and lyricist Clive James appreciated the chance to hear the man himself in the intimate acoustic surroundings of 'Second Time Around' but others were captivated for the first time. Pete played songs from his entire catalogue, from the title-track of the 1970 debut album 'Beware of the Beautiful Stranger' to the title track of 2015's 'The Colours of the Night'. Pete was in fine voice and everyone had a memorable evening in the company of some of the most literate songs of the last half century, performed by a unique and well-loved artist. A great night!
